Punjab Police martyred Mata Gurmej Kaur Manochahal (mother of Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochahal) on 16th March 1993. She was held in illegal custody at Vairoval Police station. After killing Mata Gurmej Kaur Ji, the police threw her body into the Harike River. She was arrested on 15th September 1992, from Katra Sher Singh, City Amritsar, and had been in unlawful custody since then.
